Product Safety & Care

Product Freshness

Our soups and packaging are made to withstand 2-3 days in transit. Our soups are frozen methodically for a couple days prior to fulfilment to ensure longevity in freshness while in transit. Yummy Jamaican soup pouches are made to keep soups cool and safe for as long as possible in the Freezer. When shipping, Pouches are placed in an insulated carrier with gel packs and then placed in a shipping box or bag.

Shipping Concerns

We may not ship during severe weather situations in order to prevent food safety concerns from unpredictable shipping times. Even if your shipping destination is not impacted by a weather event, other hubs and transit routes may affect the overall transit network.

In the unlikely event that your soup package does not arrive within our freshness window, please contact Customer Support immediately. We will also verify the arrival and delivery information with the carrier.

Though extremely rare, soups can go bad if there's a problem with shipping. Your soup is packaged to stay fresh generally within 2-3 days of transit. If for any reason, your shipment was delayed and your soup arrives outside our freshness window, please make note of the below freshness test.

  • Visually inspect the soup: Look at your soup to visually inspect it. It should appear in its original color without any signs of mold. Even if you notice some coagulated fat in the soup before you heat it, it should not appear cloudy (Beef soup naturally has coagulated fat when cooled, refrigerated or frozen). In addition, there should be no sediment in it.

  • Smell the soup: When you smell your soup, it should give off a pleasant aroma. If your soup smells sour or unpleasant, then it is likely spoiled and should be discarded. If your soup smells rancid or sour, then you should never taste it to check further. Tasting food that is spoiled may make you sick.
